I actually don't have a huge problem with this, provided the kid and his family give the victims' families millions and millions of dollars. However, it's just absurd given the other thread on the kids in Connecticut being charged with their friend's irresponsibility.

Perhaps they (congress people) have family members. However if I had a family member in congress I would not be proud.

I don't think money had much of anything to do with the OP story.

Laws in America are extremely lenient for drunk drivers who kill people.

In fact, they are extremely lenient for almost all motor vehicle drivers who seriously injure or kill people.
