    Know your rights when stopped

Found this on another state sub-forum. With the large number of OCers in our state, thought the newbies would appreciate and the oldies could have their refresh button pushed.

its generic info but applies to OC stops.

Some of the advice [such as 'be respectful'] may... well lets just say that some people on here with more experience may handle themselves differently but... still seemed like good information for a 'first time consumer'

Good thread and I'd like to point out it's as important to prepare yourself as it is to know your rights.

Most people are intimidated in that situation. Some respond by just giving in....others have a temper tantrum....neither works well.

Be prepared to exercise your rights in a calm but absolute manner.
