Have you been doing your part?

Virgnia gun sales set a new record in 2013 according to a recent VSP report.
    http://www.nbc12.com/story/24354073/...record-in-2013

I have been doing my part since 1989 by buying at least one gun per month. The problem is all of my cabinet drawers (kit. & baths as well as my B.R. furniture) are full and I have no more hardback books to hollow out. I would put some the trunk of my vehicle, but I drive a pick-up truck.

I know that I could sell or give away the entire lot and start over again, but I really don't want to take my dishes, clothes, and bathroom items out of the cardboard boxes - would just have to put them back in boxes again as they were displaced by the guns.

What should I do?.......( I know you believe all of that, but there is some reason gun sales are up)

I didn't buy any guns in October, so I bought two in December.

We purcahsed all 4 of the guns we own (so far) in 2013. Have others on the wish list (20 gauge SA Shotgun, Bug Revolver, etc.) but have to wait for funds to become available. Grapeshot, with the daughter moving out, we have plenty of room so if you need some "temporary storage" space I can help you out. I will even offer to take them out to the range on a regular basis for their exercise and clean them afterwards

I've had to do my part in supporting the cause coincident with obtaining all of the different kinds of actions necessary to teaching some of my classes. And, thanks to the uber-kindness of family, Santa even provided the means to feed them when taken to the range. It's unfortunate when watching rounds go down range one contemplates how much that magazine-full just cost...

Thank goodness our incoming Governor believes that it should be the law once more. There were some slackers out there - this ought to light that fire under them.

He promises his law will be "different" from the old one. I'm hoping so. I'm also hoping that we will be able to save up some of our monthly government subsidy dollars to go towards another gun safe. Sounds like Grapeshot, for one, could benefit from that.

    stay safe.

I will admit, I have fallen behind

on my duty to purchase one gun a month, but I have started this year out with a New Year's resolution to buy one box of ammo per week.

Started today with 3 boxes of Winchester 45 ACP.

Next week, the 40 gets fed!

What the heck happened to your knife?

Or did some gun store counter jockey convince you it was the latest/greatest tacticool way to bugger up a blade and handle?

Yes, I am a fan of basically tried-and-true designs. There's a reason they are tried-and-true. (And for absolute sharpness there really is nothing better than a knapped obsidian blade. Not that difficult to do once you learn how.)

    stay safe.

No convincing from behind the counter, other than I thought I was getting a good deal - only to find out Amazon sold it for $12 cheaper. GRRRR.... Second time I've been burned at a gun show (at least that I've caught after the fact).

Contributed to my part today. At least I ran some .38 spl through my SP101. I checked my records and discovered that I hadn't fired it in 5 years! It (and the 5 year old ammo) worked like a champ. Now I need some more .38 spl. I hope it didn't think it was retired.

loved my stars since the early 90s or late 80s, cant remember exactly. starvelle finish, my first 40. could get them cheap as candy when interarms stopped importing them all of mine with boxes. Ive done mine and anothers 10 parts in Dec alone. They should give me an office in greentop. People please stop selling back your single actions...im down to eating .50 bags of peanuts. I was recently told by Bobs when I bought a set of old Vaqueros that if two guns are purchaesd in the same day from one dealer, that dealer must send ina form to ATF? ps, superior pawn and bobs in norfolk/va beach have TONS of ammo...yes tons of .22s. They sell one fragmentation 22 at 1620 fps that tested this weekend very well for those of you that like little sneaky dueces.....
If you can not move at 1100 fps, then pass me by.
