    ... Pizzazzed progressive?

" [ ... ] If lawmakers really think guns are perfectly safe in public, why are there metal detectors at the entrance of the Statehouse? Doesn't it violate people's 2nd Amendment rights to not let them carry their Glock into the lobby of their own state capital? After all, that is the one place in this state you are most likely to get robbed. Truth is, politicians know deep down that guns and politics don't mix real well, sort of like guns and alcohol. But that's not their problem - it's ours now."

    typical "drivel"........

from an uneducated observer. This fellow specializes in writing a lot of political satire response columns anyhow. I would expect nothing else from him.

Don't waste your time writing to him. His use of hyperbole is typical of the left. He has been doing this kind of thing for years. Grain of salt type of "journalism" couched in a opinion.

No. With few exceptions, as for hunting.

He seems to be quoting 'law', but he's trying to assault by ridicule and hyperbole. Most people, one hopes, see through that. Calling him is like being a heckler at a Comedy Store with an experienced comic. It's just fodder for his tirade(s).

Very good, very astute. For me, the phrase was "grist for their mill."

Before I left Chuckton (classical Charleston is long dead), I stopped calling the talk shows and stopped writing letters. The Posted & Currying (posted against guns and currying favor) public editor had an inch thick file of unpublished letters when she declared me, unmet, personally unpleasant, perhaps for calling her "Elsa the boring cow McDowell" (Elsie the Borden (milk) Cow is a local icon/landmark).

The Citadel is not what you remember. Now it is merely another state school. Compare the dropout/failure rates of then and now.

    Would that be Shannon Faulkner?

My faux-stepson, the son of good friends, was 'gowned' there, at the Chapel, an M.D. neurologist. When my daughter graduated from the School of Pharmacy, she was gowned at Seacoast 'c'hristian colosseum.
