Disclaimer: I've been renting tables at Kentucky gun shows and volunteering my time and money to promote Matt Bevin as our next US Senator, and I've been getting a very good response. Kentuckians are very happy to hear that there is a GOOD candidate in that race. I was out in the nasty weather last night to attend a Bluegrass Sportsman's League meeting where Matt Bevin spoke. It was a small crowd as not many wanted to brave an ice storm, but Matt was well received.

I like Bevin from all I've read about him and his graduating from Washington & Lee in Lex VA. You have to admire a school that still honors and enforces Robt E Lee's motto of 'a gentleman will not lie, cheat or steal'. Have observed that very good characteristic in just about all of the undergraduates that I've met from there. (Current law school students not so much).

Glad to hear from people closer to Matt in KY that he's a good guy - HAS to be an improvement over the results the country has been getting from the weasel of McConnell. This summer it really made me mad hearing radio spots in Eastern KY about 'how McConnell has been fightin' so hard against Obamacare'.

Glad Bevin stepped in to the race - I want to say at the same time as he got the endorsement from Jim DeMint and the Senate Conservative Fund.

The Senate Conservatives Fund was a big early endorsement, as were Gun Owners of America and the Madison Project. FreedomWorks just signed on and is a big endorsement as well.

But mostly, Matt seems to be earning the only endorsement that really counts... that of the Kentucky voters. When people talk with Matt, they realize that he's the real deal, and not another weasel career politician. He has my support because he represents and articulates my values, and I believe that he's running for all of the reasons that I would if I could. Thankfully, he can.

The only difference between Bevin, and McConnell, is that Bevin is less of a ***** than McConnell, but they're still two sides of the same party coin, Bevin is just 'less evil' than McConnell, at least at the surface, scratch a conservative, and every time you'll get a religious zealot under the skin.

The only 'good' thing about Bevin, is that he's considerably more 'pro-gun' than McConnell, and unlike McConnel, may keep his promise to repeal the USAPATRIOT act.

That is where the differences between them cease. They both define themselves as "Conservative Republican", they both advocate for the state recognition of opposite-sex marriage, while hiding behind religious beliefs as a reason why they want the Government to enforce 'straight' marriages, but have the Government enforce the bans/laws against Same-Sex Marriage. Because ya know, they wanna fight for a smaller government, and fight for less taxes, and a bigger military, and will fight to force government to recognize our gun rights, and to a lesser extent our other rights, but we cant have the f@gs getting married! NOPE! That'll lead to animals f*cking humans in the streets in front of our children, we NEED the Government to only recognize ONE form of marriage, which happens to be the one WE LIKE.

I'm willing to bet that if I sent Bevin a heart-felt letter, asking him to please vote on a bill to repeal the unconstitutional ban on Same-sex marriage, based on the principles laid out in the Federal, and State Constitutions, that he'll say the exact same sh*t that ***** McConnell said; "Due to my religious beliefs, I cannot support, or vote in favor of any law or amendment recognizing an immoral, sinful practice between ******". Or, probably along the same lines as McConnell. I should bring McConnell's letter to an OC meet, I'm sure the republicans on this board would LOVE to have it, probably even mount it in a solid gold picture frame, adorned with symbols of Christ.

Coal burning power plants which are friggen dirty as sh*t [Don't tell me otherwise, I lived within half a mile of one, I got REAL tired of having bronchitis and other asthma-like problems, that somehow ceased to happen to me when I moved far away from coal plants.]; So, has any Republicans ever actually burned coal in a furnace, or a coal-burning stove? Oh, I forgot, Republican [and Democrat] politicians don't live the same lives we normal people do, they couldn't tell you the price of friggen milk without three advisers giving them advice!. Coal is DIRTY. It burns dirty. It heats dirty. It releases noxious fumes when burned, especially at very high temps. The smoke from burning coal is not clean, and can aggravate asthma symptoms and cause lung problems in children, and adults. Coal miners got black lung from mining coal and breathing coal dust, it's much much worse when it's burned. EPA is a craptastic gov't agency, I know that, I admit that, just like every other government agency, it's just as bad as the FBI, CIA, NHTSB, USDA, FDA, etc. But you don't see anything on his page about him wanting to limit, or get rid of, the FBI, CIA, USDA, FDA, DHS, TSA, or Federal reserve, even though they make a LARGER impact on Americans than the EPA.

Kentucky has a lot of natural resources. We have lots of natural gas deposits, we have lots of coal, we have lots of wind, lots of sun, lots of water, and I even hear it rumored by a friend in the USGS that Kentucky has a [albeit small] deposit of Uranium near Paducah. What we don't have, is a lot of Oil, very very small deposits, if any left. I tell ya what, Bevin, you wanna keep the US, and Kentucky's dependance on foreign oil, endorse legislation for Nuclear power plants to be built. two nuke plants could power much of Kentucky's residents at a super cheap price. But no, he wouldn't do that, because Nuclear power would cut into the profits of his big coal company supporters! Will probably espouse the same tired rhetoric that Nuclear power is dangerous, and dirty, and everyone living near a nuke plant will be irradiated and have cancer everywhere and all over the place, and their children will be mutants! :eye-rolls:.

The EPA, Federal, and State regulations are the only thing keeping Coal Companies, and dirty industries from dumping their used sh*t into rivers, and back country valleys, or storing chemicals underground. And anyone who touts that Businesses are gonna self-regulate themselves and keep themselves in line with no federal/state regulations and a program/agency to provide oversight, are really, really, really blind to the real f**king world, and how people think, act, and do outside of this political fantasy bubble that both parties have themselves in, where socialists can do no wrong in a Democrat's mind, and Industrial and coal businesses can do no wrong in the mind of a Republican.

Spending

Our government doesn’t have a revenue problem. It has a spending addiction. Sadly, this has been a bipartisan disease. Over the past decade, federal spending has ballooned at the hands of both Democrats and Republicans. This spending addiction has pushed our debt to nearly $17 trillion and our government to the precipice of a potential debt crisis.

It is clear we can’t trust Congress to follow through on its promise to cut spending “next year” or “next month.” It’s time for taxpayers to hold our politicians accountable. That’s why Matt supports passing a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution that will force Congress to balance the budget every year and to keep spending at or below historical spending levels.

Matt will also refuse to vote for a debt limit increase unless we make substantial spending cuts and reforms. This would include having a plan agreed upon by the President and the US Congress that balances the budget in 10 years or less.

"But the VA has changed! our military veterans no longer have free healthcare!" Bullsh-t! I have Veteran family, friends, and lovers. They STILL get 100% free healthcare from the VA no matter if its a lover who makes 67k$ a year, or if its an uncle who lives on welfare. You Republicans hate the idea of free healthcare, but won't do crap when it comes to free healthcare for our vets! Cut and get rid of the VA, Cut military and defense spending by half, Cut the navy budget by half, don't build those three planned new carriers, we have 7 friggen super carriers, a dozen escort carriers, half a dozen amphibious assault carriers, loads of frigates, destroyers, cruisers, and maritime coastal defense ships. We could defend our actual borders with two Carrier Battle groups and still be over powered compared to our competition! We'd be the only country in the world with a multi-trillion dollar surplus!

Last cycle Texas gave the US Ted Cruz. Kentucky contributed Rand Paul.

I don't think Texas will vote out a relatively texas-RINO John Cornyn/Bush, but we do hope to knock off Pete Sessions in the House.

Key things to point out in her 'news feed'; 1. She's really obsessed with attacking other people and candidates on the issue of 'jobs', and 'employment equality'. 2. She's really obsessed with attacking Mitch in every other articles. 3. She has only one article in her news feed in regards to guns, and that's her old invitation to Mitch McConnell to join her at a gun range. Nothing else mentioned or noticed in regards to guns. 4. Well, hello attack ad! Nice to see that at least half of her issue responses are attacking someone she see's as her sole competition. I don't see anything in your voting record that indicates you've done anything along the lines of helping "families, educators and schools to ensure our children have access to quality education...", in fact, news articles available online point that the last time you visited a school, or a Health and Human Services department, or School board, or families, was on your campaign trail to get elected to Secretary of State! But hey, nice to know you still care about those of us who didn't get a free ride to Friggen Rhodes College, and American University, because of who your family knew.

That's just a million people shy of filling Kentucky's population. And Holy sheet! 40,642,560 women are assaulted EVERY YEAR in the U.S.?! My word! that comes to 9.8% of the U.S. total population! The United States is an EXTREMELY violent place if 40 million women are getting assaulted every year, and no one really knows about it.

WHERE DO THESE PEOPLE GET THESE FRIGGEN STATISTICS?!

So, when I run for a political office, I could find a off-the-wall report that said every minute a gay person is assaulted in the U.S.! but don't calculate the numbers or anything, because then you'd know I'm just bullsh*tting you!

What's sad is that I can't tell if the "pols" he's referring to are either Polish people, Police, or Pollsters who work at voting booths.

I dunno about the others, but I do not support any candidate on any available ballot in the odd, or even election cycles, because none of them are worthy of my vote, and all of them are just as bad as the other candidate(s). Bevin is just as bad as McConnell, Rand is just as bad as Grimes, so on and so forth. While I am leaning toward voting against McConnell, with all due respect to Mr. Bevin, posing at a range shooting various weapons doesn't impress me.

Can anyone tell me what Mr. Bevin has done, prior to deciding to run for office, that would promote the 2nd Amendment?

Not attempting to start a war, just asking a question.

What's sad is that I can't tell if the "pols" he's referring to are either Polish people, Police, or Pollsters who work at voting booths.

I dunno about the others, but I do not support any candidate on any available ballot in the odd, or even election cycles, because none of them are worthy of my vote, and all of them are just as bad as the other candidate(s). Bevin is just as bad as McConnell, Rand is just as bad as Grimes, so on and so forth. And until there is a candidate on the ballot that genuinely thinks for themselves without consulting some BS 2,000 year old book, or borrows from the Communist manifesto on how they should help socialize the state, then I'm going to work adamantly against any candidate I come across, and try to expose them for the corrupt expert Bull****ers that they are, no matter how many Libertarians, Republicans, or Democrats say that Candidate C is better than Candidate A & B, because of this or that. Libertarians are just as self-righteously ignorant about real problems and real-world issues as their Democrat, and Republican counter-parts.

So no, at least where I'm concerned, I support no one on the ballot that has "integrity or honor".

And in case you Texans forgot, you ARE apart of the United States of America, where we ALL have fundamental, inherent, inalienable rights. Such as, but not limited to, our right to B*tch and moan about anything we darn well please, any time we so wish it, and pass around how unfair life is to us or how fair life is to our bank accounts. If you'd like to see a restriction on what your adversaries can, or cannot say, do, or feel, then Texas is more than welcome to remove itself from the U.S., and go join up with Columbia, Sudan, Cambodia, or Iran. Go ahead, trust me, the rest of the U.S. ain't gonna miss y'all one bit at all. You've been sitting on your cow hide couches for the last two hundred-something years, wining about how you're gonna leave the Union. Well, why don't you?! This was my question too. Sitting over here in Texas, got $ I think can be better sent to candidates that might make more of a difference. Want to hear from local voters what do they think about the conservative nature of the individuals - not just the political garbage you hear through the media, consultants, candidates lying this way or that.

Want to say I remember a phrase my great-grandparents used - GTT - gone to texas. Still rings true. My old family comes from FL, TN and MS and was in the War against Northern Aggression. Texas is a great state to make money, but I'm thinking about how beautiful parts of Eastern TN and KY; WV and ROVA and NC are - when I start to diversify my time and locate places to hang out, am starting to escalate my interest in what type of attitude the people in those areas embody for their well being. Are they content with 'the way things are' or 'are they willing to do something about it'.

This is good info too. When I see a lot of these type of general attitudes in certain areas where I travel, I know that it could be a good spot to look to buy land - it has to be cheap because there probably is not much $ chasing it - if the locals are not engaged with changing things, being dynamic and moving forward with economic development, you can make a lot of money in ….Texas…..where land is going for $10,000 an undeveloped acre, you can buy it in…..KY…. for $500.

Kentucky has just as many apethetic, content voters as any other state, which happens to be a majority of the population. People will say "We need change!" "We need someone who can turn things around" "I'm tired of the same old crap from my party" "Enough is enough" - But none of them will actually do anything to try to make a difference, no matter how large or small, in the way things are done locally, and nationally, because it'd involve them having to make an effort, and put some free time into the attempt. Now that I think about it, that explains the vast majority of voters, and non-voters in every state in the Union!

If the people should ever be faced with the same Casus Belli that our Founding Fathers, and Revolutionary war patriots faced and clung to, I'd have to say that maybe, just maybe, 1/64th of the U.S. population would take up arms, or make meaningful action in support of, such a cause, foreign or domestic. Face it, Americans are idiots, and the majority of us cannot be trusted to vote responsibly, or to fight to secure one iota of 'freedoms' that people two or three hundred years ago, would have given everything to achieve for SOMEONE ELSE! So yea, people in Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia, Whatever-the-frick ROVA is, and NC, are "content with 'the way things are".

Average price per acre in some rural areas around my area can get as low as 1200$ per acre, I have not once in my lifetime seen an acre sell for 500$. Also, nice way to land in an economic-centered insult. Apparently Kentucky is inferior to Texas because our land is cheaper [in most cases]. Well, how about this, when you guys have constitutional Open Carry, like what we have, and a state pre-emption, like we have, and won't get arrested for simply showing a loading pistol outside of your jacket, THEN you can dish out insults, bro. Till then, go pound sand in your pitiful state's forum, brah.

I agree with Rand Paul in that spending needs to be cut and it needs to happen very quickly. No Child Left Behind was passed over 11 years ago and still we have not closed the education gaps, after billions of dollars spent. Programs with money wasted and no results should be programs de-funded. I would take Education out of the federal government's hands because their education agenda does not represent the agenda of the American people and I would place the responsibility for educating our children in the hands of the state, the community, the neighborhood, and the family units. I would get STEM education and agricultural curriculum available to schools, and families and encourage and support families who chose to stay at home with their kids and home school. The federal government dropped the ball with education, and they don't deserve to have that responsibility anymore, in my opinion.

Big U.K. education, still can't use a thesaurus, or, I dunno, run a page by a English professor or English Major. It's okay, I wouldn't expect any candidate to actually care about taking pride in themselves, or their 'education'.

Hmm, take Education from the Federal Government, and place it in the bonds of State Government! SURE! Why not. Because as we all know well, State governments are safer, and more readily able to be changed by the populace, than the Federal government. [Sarcasm.] So, put education in the hands of the communities, neighborhoods, and family units, eh? I suppose you never heard of, or been to a County, or City school board, right? They sorta have this thing, where elected school board officials make big decisions in regards to funding local schools, and what will or will not be taught in the school district, as well as handle reviews and audits of the school system as is. Now, I personally have not been to a public school before, I was home schooled up to mid-'junior high', where I transferred to a private school that had a really good J/ROTC program, which I really loved; Point being, all that I know of the school board, is what I've seen in person when I considered running for a position within, to try and beat out my IDIOT neighbor who moved in from California, and literally considers his one-cow fenced in back yard to be a 'farm'. Yea, one of THOSE people.

So, Agricultural curriculum is not already in our school system? Hmm, I suppose the 4H club in every county school district is just an imaginary object, which school-aged kids happen to get into at their own decisions, or the decisions of the family.

Honestly, the Federal Government didn't drop the ball on the topic of Education. STATES dropped the ball, County and local school boards dropped the ball. Do you seriously think the US is barely even in the top 20, out of 168 or so countries, because the Federal government just said "Screw it, kids can teach themselves."

I agree with Rand Paul 100%. What we are going through right now in our day in time with our government would have been a walk in the park for our founding fathers and without flinching they would have held all accountable who are tying to destroy our Constitution right now. If we want to know what it will take to fight back and preserve our freedom, then all we have to do is look at the long list of injustices, injuries, and usurpations our founding fathers faced as is recorded in the Declaration of Independence. It is almost as if our enemies are moving down that list using it as a guideline on how to enslave us. We must look at that list again and realize that our forefathers found a way to break free and that way is our Constitution, our Bill of Rights, our Civil Liberties not just for the King, or Queen or wealthy elite but for all United States citizens who take the oath to protect and defend the United States Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic.

Oh, okay then, well, I guess those of us United States citizens who DIDN'T JOIN THE MILITARY, BECAME COPS, or GOT ELECTED TO OFFICE are just Sh*t outta luck when it comes to civil liberties, since freedom only applies to people who took an oath of affirmation to protect and defend the Constitution. Last time I checked, no one had to take such an oath when they popped out of a womb, before they could be a citizen. Rights and freedoms are inherent, and inalienable. I would add that it almost looks like they are tying to get Americans so economically devastated that they lose their good credit ratings, lose their homes, lose their jobs, lose their hope in America, and ultimately their future ability to get financing due to their hardships, and little by little, the cities will go under, the states will go under and guess who will be there with the money to buy it all up? Not only that, but because they are trying to keep the states from using the energy each state can generate themselves, for example, Kentuckians use coal, then those resources will be saved in the ground or preserved, ready to go for the new owners of our county, down the road. The new owners who plotted for many years to run our economy into the ground so that they could plunder on its loss.

Update: I was asked by a reporter today, 1/28/2014, if I felt that the Affordable Care Act should be repealed. I told him, no, because I feel that American citizens should be able to have affordable health care. I want affordable health care, but parts of the Affordable Care Act are not affordable, and they are not helping Kentucky families, but are causing harm to families. We need to make sure that this law is not allowed to harm our citizens.

I absolutely agree with Rand Paul on securing our borders. People who come here illegally are breaking our laws. We are a country whose security is dependent on laws, on our Constitution and if individuals think they can break those laws, then they are not understanding what American citizenship is all about. Which of course can take upwards of ten years, and cost tens of thousands of dollars to accomplish, how would you handle that? Would you lower the cost in time and money to become a legal U.S. resident? Would you send the Military to the borders? What, and how would you feel about a legal U.S. resident that suddenly strapped a bomb on their chest and vaporized 12 people in Mt. Sterling's police department? They entered the U.S. legally, and took all the tests, and spent the time to educate themselves, and act and talk American, just to commit a harmful act anyway. Would you still make it harder for a Mexican family who are oppressed by their corrupt Mexican government, broke, not a peso to their name, trying to go to the El Norte, where people talk of freedom and liberty, and cross deadly deserts, and rivers, to make it through a hole in a fence? I really get the impression that you just like to kiss-arse to people in office, cops, and the military because you really dislike Americans in general who never swore such an oath. In my lifetime, Barring ROTC, I never swore such an oath. And the oath I took in ROTC died the day I was removed from the program because of my sexuality. I love the military and I will always try and do something special on the farm to help our military families, even if it is just getting them plants and seeds to start a vegetable garden. I think plants are very therapeutic and our military families go through a lot. It helps to have a garden, a place where you can watch life grow. The Kentucky Proud program supports our military with a very cool and very sweet logo designed just for them, it says, "Homegrown by Heroes". I love this and when I go to the farms this next year, I will make sure and visit the farms that are using this logo, because I want to include in the K-12 curriculum, a strong support for our military and our military families, past, present and future. We need to be there for our veterans, because they were and are still there for us.

Honey, you need to just come out of the closet, your 'love' of the military jets past anything remotely near what a normal person should feel, and straight into the fetish-zone. You started the second sentence, and the rest of the comment, about how you think plants and gardening is good for military veterants, and make K-12 school curriculum teach kids to show strong support for the military,a nd military families.

F*** the military, the veterans, and the families of veterans and active-duty military personnel. They get PLENTY of damned benefits, and services, and private grants/loans, and the unending admiration of People who would gladly become a Veteran's personal sex slave because they love the military so much. We don't need to be there, or here, or anywhere for our service veterans. There are federal, and state laws that make Veterans a protected class that cannot be legally discriminated against, or refused employment, or housing, because of their status with the military. And they CHOSE to VOLUNTEER to go get trained to KILL and HARM other human beings. But, Gays want the same protection, and it's immoral, and wrong, and needs to be shunned and such! Veterans are trained to live a life of the bare minimal, fighting and killing everyone they see as a threat, and living off rice and bear sh*t if they have to. They are trained to use Close-Quarters hand-to-hand combat, they are trained to kill effectively and silently with knives, and are trained to shoot the wings off a fly at 200 yards. AND Yet they still need special status, and protecting in the work place?!
