On April 8, the RAND Corporation, a nonprofit research institution, released a study on how the Affordable Care Act (ACA) has affected the number of Americans with health insurance. The study found a net gain of 9.3 million Americans with health insurance from September 2013 to March 2014 and that the share of uninsured Americans has dropped from 20.5 percent to 15.8 percent. The report estimated a lower enrollment number than the White House's 7.1 million, but added an important caveat:

“Although a total of 3.9 million people enrolled in marketplace plans, only 1.4 million of these individuals were previously uninsured. Our marketplace enrollment numbers are lower than those reported by the federal government at least in part because our data do not fully capture the surge in enrollment that occurred in late March 2014.

I looked at all the plans and financially they don't benefit me.

Although I qualify for subsidies and I would pay almost nothing for premiums, I would be forced to pay very high deductibles and co pays for all services and treatments.

These co pays and deductibles would end up being much higher than what I pay now when I just pay cash with no insurance.

Join the club. I'm healthy, have no prescriptions, have a low-risk job, and am low risk for injury in general. I'll be spending nearly ten times more for premiums in a year than I would on doctor/dentist/vision costs with no insurance.

Sadly there are too many loop holes with this Obama Care crap. When it comes down to needing health insurance, I will not be looking through the "Market" as the prices are sky rocketed for so the government can make a killing off the American people. Currently I have "United Health Care" and refuse to shop through a government website which saves me no money than me doing this on my own. Besides I give this Obama Care another year and it will be thrown away just like half of Obama's ideas on how to run a country.

I'm in the same boat here, except for the low risk job. And since there's a completely legal way to avoid the penalty, I won't be carrying health insurance, pretty much ever. Besides, I am one of the few people left who loathe the medical community enough, that I would rather die than receive their services.

I think some may have thought the same about other socialism encroachments. Medicare, Social Security, etc....
