So I went to walmart iin north valley (on the hill by the smiths super market) about 30 mins ago to return a pellet gun I had bought and here is the story.

Customer service lady (Csl): how can I help you
Me: I have a return (pellet gun in box)
Csl: did you have management escort you in with that?
Me: no, am I supposed to?
Csl: yes it's posted out front.

(Apparently there was a disgruntled employee a few years ago that brought a gun in and shot some members from upper management, I just moved here never heard that story, and because of that you can't return a gun like item without management escort, but I can carry a glock 23 loaded one in the pipe openly. Lol)

Csl: let me call a manager to look it over

(Manager comes by and approves my return no hassle or any policy preaching from him.)

She then hands me my money and I apologize for not knowing the policy and she assures me not to worry about it. Then she goes to say AND I QUOTE: "some people actually bring loaded weapons in here, they act like they are on top of the world..." And continues to talk about how she owns a gun herself and then says "when I see those people I just turn and walk away..."
Apparently she did not notice my glock...

Then I just proceeded to thank her for her help and left.

As I left I looked on the glass windows if the entrance and there is NO posted sign of any policy in regards to return of firearms. And if that were the case wouldn't it be a completely free gun zone? Lol anyways there is my story for the night.

That just gave me a good laugh so I figured u would share.

LOL. I always think it's funny when I am concealing and somebody starts off on an anti-OC rant about "these people who..." I usually say, "Like me, for instance?" I then tell them that I usually OC and that if they prefer CC, that's fine as long as they don't go supporting laws in which the gov restricts you from OC.

Wanted to trial fit a long gun to a hard case at a local Wal-Mart. Called ahead - this was immediately after the Beltway Sniper incidents - and was told to go to customer service.

Carried inverted sling arms w/bolt removed. Door greeter was seen peeking around the corner of the wall by the carts. Customer service directed me to sporting goods. Found a nice hard case, then after paying for it and placing the gun in the case, was told that the employee would have to carry the cased gun out of the store for me. Was funny listening to the employee trying to explain how I would have to allow them to carry out what I had openly carried into the store.

They didn't want to sell me ammo for the gun either - suggested that I might shoot somebody. Forget that if I planned that I could have brought ammo with me, would not have had to walk to the rear of the store, AND was OCing a 1911.

I did get my ammo and I did carry my personal possessions myself - never did see the greeter/receipt checker again.
