Gumnoshoplophobia - Those that fear open carry. γυμνόςὅπλονφόβος

Did I coin a new term? No google results yet from another source. Any better term for it?

I'm not a greek expert but I think we should name the condition.

These are the folks who pucker if you mention Open Carry as an irrational and emotional response.

From Greek ??µ??? - gumnos, "naked"

From the Greek ?p??? - hoplon, meaning, amongst other things, "arms,"

and from f?ß?? - phobos, meaning "fear.".

Wife just told me it should be Gumnohoplophobia

Any reference to the movie "Naked Gun" are here by preempted and called lame, and unoriginal.

Its Greek to me ! Anyway, if I use the term "γυμνόςὅπλονφόβος" again I'll gladly play the royalty.

Don't expect to get rich OP.

The long-used term allegedly coined by Jeff Cooper "hoplophobia" works equally well for OC or CC.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoplophobia

Me thinks he read that already and quoted this part from it: '...hoplon, meaning, amongst other things, "arms,"...'

There are a lot of "pro gun" people that don't know they are hoplophobes when it comes to open carry, though.

But they don't need a new term; they need to understand the first one!

All that Greek is, well, greek to me. :) I just call such folks stupid...

You can dislike, disapprove or discourage OC however you wish, but it's pretty dumb to "fear" it.

I think you need to add at least seven more letters, before it will qualify as legal terminology. Get cracking on some more affixes. :)
