Chicago man whips out .22 caliber submachine gun over 22-cent Diet Pepsi tax

"Court documents show that Nahshon X. Shelton allegedly argued to the store clerk that since he lived in the neighborhood, he was “exempt” from the 22-cent tax on the $1.79 soda price tag, Mediaite reported. He left the store, but later returned, the Chicago Tribune said, citing court filings.

And when he returned, he opened a Gucci sachel and withdrew a loaded .22 caliber submachine gun, police reported.

I highly doubt it was a submachine gun, those are expensive and the type of people who collect them are not likely to use them for piddly amount of money.

If Nahshon X. can really afford a $1.79 "soda" then a submachine gun is trivial.

Whip it, whip it good ...

Not guilty would be my verdict ... until our RKBA are honored by the gov't ...

But his beef was not with the clerk at the store ... it was with the city and county ... he should have gone downtown and "filed" his grievance.

    Cool

Just typical. Can't afford a .22 cent tax, but pulls a SEMI MACHINE GUN out of a GUCCI bag. LOL.. Probably goochi, and was .177 pellet. LOL..

They also make .22 pellets. They're pointed. I'm going to just take a guess that it was a stolen Ruger 10/22 or Cwntury Arms .22lr PPsH remake. Saw one in American Rifleman for $399 I think.

Millions for defense, not a penny (or 22 cents in this case) for tribute !

.22LR is too damn scarce and expensive to be plinking it at people over a few cents in sales tax.
