Shelby County Schools teaching about the 2A

A guy i know at work called me down to his office this morning and proceeded to tell me a very crazy story. He said he had caught his 10 year old son lying about something this weekend and when confronted about it, the boy said "i plead the 5th". His dad was mildly perturbed and said "where did you learn about that?". The son replied that they were learning about the Amendments in school the week prior. His dad said "well, did you learn about the 2A?", the son didnt seem to recollect and his dad reminded him, "it's the one about guns". The boy replied "oh yeah, it's the right of the military/police to bear arms and people with permits". Pretty scary if that is what they are teaching students here in the midsouth area. I would hate to know what they are learning up north.

On a side note, i was seeing some family in FL for easter. My cousin is about 24-25 and had a few friends over that were about his age. Somehow politics came up and inevitably guns and Zimmerman (being in FL and all). I told them i carried and they were like "when do you carry" oh all the time lol and held up my shirt. What was funny is none of their parents had firearms or supported them but all the "kids" were overwhelmingly in favor of unrestricted carry, OC and even zimmerman. They were like, carrying all the time should be the norm, not the other way around. i explained the deterrent OC offers versus CC. None of them had ever even shot a pistol. I offered to take them to the range next time i come down and give them a few pointers. Id never seen some kids so excited in my life. Good to see that kind of enthusiasm from the next generation.

I wonder if they've also been taught that we're all equal regardless of the color of our skin, but that some of us are more equal than others. /sarcasm
I carry to defend my loved ones; Desensitizing and educating are secondary & tertiary reasons. Anything else is unintended.

“Life, liberty, and property do not exist because men have made laws. On the contrary, it was the fact that life, liberty, and property existed beforehand that caused men to make laws in the first place.” - Frederic Bastiat

"When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle." - Edmund Burke
