    Possible M&G Question (NFA Trusts)

    Guys,

I was meeting with a representative of US Law Shield yesterday. During the meeting he indicated the concept of an NFA Gun Trust is at risk. It appears the ATF will be eliminating it (part of Obama's unilateral effort at gun control) in the near future, possibly as soon as 30 day or less. That means anyone that doesn't have one in place will have to navigate the individual purchase process as well as possibly be challenged passing them on. The list of what is impacted is significantly longer than what I remember.

He also offered to deliver an education session for our M&G group to explain the process & benefits. This session is co-presented with an attorney. That said, his company also provides an very economical service to have a knowledgeable attorney help create them - I'm
    considering using them.

So, the question - If I were to organize a M&G in restaurant with a private room for the presentation, would anyone here be interested? Given the risk the ATF will expire this soon, it would have to be either this weekend or next. I was thinking that given we might draw from Denver & the Springs (& I have access to a facility) I would suggest Castle Rock.

If you are considering any class 3, including a suppressor, you may want to attend to see what you don't know and what to do about it.

If there is enough interest, I'll post the meeting details here ASAP.

Please provide, if you are interested, best day (this weekend or next) & how many might come. The specific time and if it is Saturday or Sunday may be dictated by availability of the room.

Any interest? Thoughts? I will need to know in the next 24 hours if we are going to do this weekend.

    Thanks,
    John

UPDATE: The ATF has pushed back their decision on the new trust rules. That means we have a little longer to do this. That said, if we hold this on another day, probably in June would that work better for everyone? Also, this is the same presentation that gun stores are charging $20 each for. If no one is interested, let me know & I'll kill the idea.

Perhaps link or post it in the main Colorado forum.

    Whats the outcome on this?

On another note, I've been trying to come up with some justifiable income estimates on that idea we have been discussing, might be fodder for a side discussion as well.

June works for me. Can't make all days, but I'm always up for learning more about the issues.
