Look halfway down the article. There is a picture too.

African-american LAC open carry as well, glad to see it, quite frankly. The right belongs to all!

Yahoo News said:
To avoid becoming a victim, security guard Greg Champion wears a handgun on his hip whenever he's pumping gas.

"I don't want to surprise you," Champion said. "I want you to know I'm armed, and I want you to know I can defend myself, and I want you to go somewhere else."

Christine Reed takes the opposite approach. The 27-year-old mother of two won't stop for gas in Detroit. She lives north of the city in Warren and works four days a week cleaning offices downtown.

If she's in a bad section of town, Reed said, she passes through red lights because it's tougher to carjack a moving target.

"It's not a safe place anymore," Reed said. "It's dangerous."

The former takes responsibility for his own safety, the latter has her life dictated by fear (AND endangers the lives of others); two general options.

The link doesn't work.....at least not right now.

Just tested from a android device. Tough it loads slow & defaults to a ad for their mobile app, it does load for me. Good story. Only thing is - I wish the OCer would have hung/removed the gas pump up with his weak hand. No knock on him, just a good habit to keep ones strong hand free, if at all possible.

Or maybe he does like I do I carry weak and strong side.... I found this a more practical way to deal with the weak hand issue, and since I am fully ambidextrous with a hand gun it works great.

Could be the case, any things possible I guess. My bet is if he was duel carry or more, the photographer would have gotten that for sure. The media more than often, is very adept at framing OCers / carriers in general in a negative light either overtly or covertly. I was glad to see this write-up seemed to be unbiased, which sadly these days is unusual.

For those of us who did work with the media and in the media there is a mindset that permeates the body of the media.
hatred for anything not Communist or in today's modified language Democratic which means mob rule in their minds, or socialist/progressive and anyone who does not understand what a Progressive is needs to read about Fabian socialism and how it is the Marxist movement of the Pre 1980's redecorated to do a more sinister approach to destroying our Constitution.

As far as dual carry I never show my backup and after 40 years living in the inner city of Detroit and carrying since the early 70's open and concealed at the same time, my first hand knowledge many do carry one open, and one concealed.

We agree on the media and after working with them I have a lasting disgust for their mentality.

My solution is to bull doze the entire city and start over. I'm sorry but I don't see any other solutions with a crime ridden era.

Many seem to feel that way. Well until "they" can find a big enough bulldozer - let's hope new mayor "Mike D" can help steer the downing passengers of the HMS Titanic.. err.. USS Detroit towards the lifeboats and away from the crackheads...err I mean icebergs. :uhoh:

Detroit has some great people - however they are vastly overwhelmed by those who continue to say "it aint my problem". Born there, raised part of my life there...NEVER want to go back!

Do Not give up on Our felow Citizens in the D! They've only been Educated on their "Right To Bear OC/CC" in the last 5 or so Years by Folks Like Us, after 4+ Decades of Dem/Leftist media propaganda! Many of my Detroit neighbors and friends, All Law Abiding Good folks, thru the years, wouldn't believe it Legal to Carry OC or CC until I showed them the Laws, due to the Decades of Lies/Propaganda! Thanks to Rick Ector and others in this area we've been able to "Educate" By Media, Our Fellow Citizens in the D of their Rights and the Numbers of Law Abiding Good Guys and Gals Carrying are Growing, which IS reducing Crime as Always! Therefore Do Not Give Up on Our Fellows In The "D"!! CARRY ON!

Not if he was carrying his backup concealed or OC and didn't allow the media to see it. As you know many of us OC with backup in CC mode.
