New FedGov database will track Americans' credit ratings, financial info, SSN's

"Americans may be compelled to disclose intimate details of their families and financial lives -- including their Social Security numbers -- in a new national database being assembled by two federal agencies.

The Federal Housing Finance Agency and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau posted an April 16 Federal Register notice of an expansion of their joint National Mortgage Database Program to include personally identifiable information that reveals actual users, a reversal of previously stated policy.

FHFA will manage the database and share it with CFPB. A CFPB internal planning document for 2013-17 describes the bureau as monitoring 95 percent of all mortgage transactions.

Get your SSN tattooed now! Avoid the rush. Remember when SSN disclosure was protected? Remember when Miranda Warnings were mandatory?

Interesting point. I hadn't thought of quite that tangent, to the Judenstern.

Perhaps it will be valuable to understand, then, the context of Pastor Martin Niemöller's "First they came for ..." about the cowardice of German intellectuals and the subsequent purging of their government's chosen targets, group after group.

I note, from my personal interest, that Pastor Martin Niemöller is co-founder of The Confessing Church with Dietrich Bonhoeffer, whose literature covers my study floor ATM and fills my KINDLE. The Confessing Movement rises in the American protestant community.

    U.S. v. Minker, 350 US 179, at page 187
"Because of what appears to be a lawful command on the surface, many citizens, because
of their respect for what only appears to be a law, are cunningly coerced into waiving their
    rights, due to ignorance." (Paraphrased)

We better not retreat, not to our attics.

Well I guess its lucky that just a note in the Fed Reg is good enough to change the laws (SCOTUS said so about 5-10 yrs ago if I recall correctly).

Regs don't need to be changed ...

So read the Fed Reg every day !
