It just goes by FFL, so a large number of those people aren't running out of a dedicated brick and mortar shop, so much as reselling C&R items out of their garage (or maybe just holding onto them). I wonder how you would factor that out.

I don't know how many kitchen table (KT) dealers are left . I recall in about 2001 the ATF went around to scare people into giving up their licenses of those that were KT dealers ... I told them to drop dead but most others did not renew.

One must comply with zoning regs (how they try to get most denials) but even in mega-anti CT, I was still able to keep my license through ingenious license application wizardry.
