Citizen with drone getting national media attention

In just the last week Daniel Saulmon has done interviews with the LA Times, CNN, Good Morning America, numerous local news papers and local TV stations.

Hopefully this starts a bigger trend of citizens pushing back against government and using new tools to monitor and document government.

Late! Man flips drone fear on its head, uses technology to monitor L.A. cops. 27 Jun

“I don’t think it’s a substitute for a hand-held camera, but it’s definitely a complement,” Daniel Saulmon of Torrance told the Los Angeles Times.

Cmdr. Andrew Smith of the Los Angeles Police Department told the paper that the emergence of drones used by civilians is an “eye-opener” that law enforcement would “need to pay attention to.”

"It was kind of an eye-opener for us that this is something we really need to pay attention to," said LAPD Cmdr. Andrew Smith about the drone outside the Kings game. "It's certainly something that's growing enormously."
