Target now a gfz major announcement

Now target forbids OC. I don't know about CC. Part of the statement reads:“This is a complicated issue, but it boils down to a simple belief: Bringing firearms to Target creates an environment that is at odds with the family-friendly shopping and work experience we strive to create.” Yeah until a gun toting criminal comes in.

Eschew BigBox stores. Shop Mom&Pop. Shop local, buy local, eat local, drink local

No danger. I have not crossed the threshold of a Great Wal*Mart of China in years, and only slightly more recently have a patronized a target. I do prefer B-27's in black.

Did Starbucks/Chipotle/Jack-in-the-Box lose any revenue since they took the same stance?

The fact that the store now forbids citizens from protecting themselves making it a potentially dangerous environment thats practically begging for an armed robbery just like what happened at Jack in the Box.

Still, Target won’t post signs at its doors asking customers not to bring guns inside, said Molly Snyder, a Target spokeswoman.

“It is not a ban,” she said. “There is no prohibition.”

    It’s not a ban — it’s a request.

Target Corp., which has found itself in the cross hairs of a heated gun debate in recent weeks, sought to mollify both sides Wednesday by asking customers not to bring firearms into its stores.

Yup. That was my point. And more to it:

They think their response will appease both sides just enough. They know that it may not please gun owners, but it may not piss many of them off, either (the majority who CC's probably don't care!)

Until they post a sign, they can't expect you to know. So just continue to OC in Target. I do.

    That didn't take long...

When this policy was first announced, I contacted them thru the target webpage and got a response more or less that said...
"its for the children". I just replied back to their email with these links reiterating that I will no longer spend money at any of their stores.

Will it make a difference? Probably not, but one can hope.

Exactly. They've also publicly said they don't intend to confront/stop/ask people to leave. Though I haven't yet looked at the post above and its "That didn't take long..." yet....going there now. :\

Their "statement" was just to silence the whiners.
