Jackson PD Takes Camera as "evidence'

This isn't open carry, but many do carry recording devices when we open carry, so I think it applies.

This is from a while back...but your point is well taken. Jackson has some real buttmonkies in their ranks. They are well known in the OC community for being at best unprofessional and at worst, criminal in their behaviors.

I wonder if that lack of competence is not at least partly responsible for their attitude towards the OC community? "We may not be much, but by damn, we'll make you dependent upon us so that you can't do without us no matter how bad we are."

This guy had another interesting incident with his own wife 9 months after the camera incident.

Taken from the link, "Hibbard was not arrested. He was placed in “protective custody” and taken to Allegiance Health for a mental health evaluation."

Would that be considered an involutary committment or a 302?

Involuntary commitment? No. Unless he was admitted by the chief medical officer of the facility. Everyone should become familiar with such processes before they get into one. They are usually governed by state statue and regulations; mental health facilities are highly regulated by states. But they are not "state or functional state equivalent facilities" unless actually run by the state.
