There may be some .... misconceptions... in how we 'see' blindness.
The United States Congress says that if a person still sees 20/200 vision, or worse, after glasses and/or contacts, then they are legally blind. It also states that if someone has only 20 degrees of peripheral vision, or less, they are also considered legally blind.
So what does the world look like to someone legally blind?
As you can see, someone who is barely legally blind, as depicted above, is not even close to being totally blind.

Actually, it really is a no-brainer. The ability to exercise an individual right is not dependent on the absence of a physical disability. The privilege of driving an automobile may be limited by the state. Two completely different issues.

It seems these antis are the "foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not"; should a frail old woman be denied self protection because she "might be unable to handle the recoil"? Should a disable man be denied because he "may have the gun taken and used against him?
The antis generally seem to call themselves "progressive" and espouse the equality of all, regardless of disability, but it is because of things like this that anyone open to reason can see they're hypocrites when it comes down to practicing what they preach.

In truth the restrictions on short barreled shot guns is discriminatory against blind people, because to defend themselves if totally blind they will be firing toward sound, and the extra spread increases their chance of a hit and succseful defense. The way it is now they are unlikely to go thru the hassle to get one, but its most suited to their situation and needs, in the home certainly. Outside the home a single projectile weapon would still be preferable to avoid stray shots, its likely they would want something they can fire at close range if accosted.

Completely agree, being blind does not make a person a criminal or mean they will kill. In fact I have heard of no cases where blind people have committed violent crimes. I am sure there are some, but apparently they are very few.
The antis just want to make excuses to take rights away.
Does that mean I'm not allowed to engage someone attacking me while wearing a ski mask?
