MDA to Kroger "Ban Open Carry"!

MDA to Kroger Ban Open Carry!

Local Group Wants Kroger Take Stand Against Guns

They are at it again, 'Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America' now is trying to pressure Kroger (the country's largest supermarket chain) to ban open carry. Kroger responds by saying it doesn't want confrontations with it's customers who are legally carrying.

    http://www.local12.com/news/features...ns-16253.shtml

Michele Mueller of Moms Demand Action said, "It's just common sense that when you walk into these stores, like Krogers, to grocery shop that that's exactly what you expect to do, is grocery shop. And not have to run or hide or be so frightened."

I realize that this is a 'family friendly' forum so I will use the term "idiotic" in describing the above comment and leave it at that.....

Policy on customers carrying firearms in stores
The safety of our customers and associates is one of our most important company values. Millions of customers are present in our busy grocery stores every day and we don't want to put our associates in a position of having to confront a customer who is legally carrying a gun. That is why our long-standing policy on this issue is to follow state and local laws and to ask customers to be respectful of others while shopping. We know that our customers are passionate on both sides of this issue and we trust them to be responsible in our stores.

Fair enough answer and responsible too.

I truly don't understand the Moms trying to do this. I asked Michele if she'd ever seen an open carrier in her Delhi Kroger, and surprisingly <sarcasm/> got no response back. Glad to see Kroger deferring to the local laws.
