Huey P. Newton Gun Club Black open-carry activists protest police brutality in Dallas

In Texas, blacks are protesting police violence in a particularly Southwestern way: By invoking their right to open carry. On Wednesday, more than 30 members of the newly-formed Huey P. Newton Gun Club gathered to march through South Dallas with rifles, shotguns, and AR-15s. The group eventually entered a restaurant with their weapons while Dallas police officers were inside eating lunch.

Gee maybe THIS time Moms Demand Action won't want to use the pics.

Or maybe they think we are all racists and WILL use the pics to try to make us scared.

My guess is the antis ignore. They already ignore the racist history and present reality of gun control, and they already reflexively assume all gun owners are white, racist republicans.

I think the Black Panthers have the right idea. I don't much favor socialism, but so far theirs is of the wholly voluntary sort (charity food drives and the like).

And taking responsibility for self-defense back from over-numerous and over-militarized police is what all Americans ought to be doing.

I'd stand by them, if they'd have me.

Just wish the "Black Power" chants weren't used during a march which is in defense of a Right held by the People, independent of skin pigmentation. I say this only because the media will likely try to make it entirely about race and gloss over the RTKBA.
I carry to defend my loved ones; Desensitizing and educating are secondary & tertiary reasons. Anything else is unintended.

There's nothing wrong with Black Power, so long as it takes an equal place alongside White Power, Yellow Power, etc. and so long as they all find themselves a good deal above State Power.
