Comments in the coverage of the South Napa quake have noted the rampant LACK of looting.

I am not anti Cop I am just pro Citizen.

    U.S. v. Minker, 350 US 179, at page 187
"Because of what appears to be a lawful command on the surface, many citizens, because
of their respect for what only appears to be a law, are cunningly coerced into waiving their
    rights, due to ignorance." (Paraphrased)

I'm glad that Kalifornia did not fall into the ocean. We don't need their kind moving here. Their kind being - Lets build our house on an active fault line.

Even flyover country has a dog in this fight for recognition.
"I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it." - Thomas Jefferson.

"Better that ten guilty persons escape, than that one innocent suffer" - English jurist William Blackstone.
It is AFAIK original to me. Compromise is failure on the installment plan, particularly when dealing with so intractable an opponent as ignorance. - Nightmare

Don't care. That movie is golden. It's supposed to be serious like The Other Sister, but I can't stop laughing when I watch either.

That's why I said active. I only recall feeling three light tremors in my 64 years. In Ohio you have a better chance of getting hit with a tornado than a earthquake.
