A distant relative shot and killed this morning at his business in Suffolk, VA

    http://hamptonroads.com/2014/09/poli...-wound-suffolk

Police were called to ...(Carter Furniture)... shortly after 1:10 a.m. The caller said Donald Carter was unresponsive. He had been shot in the lower torso.

Carter, 82, was taken to Sentara Obici Hospital and was pronounced dead a short time later.
Mr. Carter's business is on the border between "downtown" and "ghetto." He has operated this location for decades.

Details are as yet pretty sketchy.

And no, my strong Second Amendment feelings have not been affected by this tragedy.

Guy should not be shot just for walking, even in a poor part of town. Sad event.
