"Francis Julius Bellamy (May 18, 1855 – August 28, 1931) was a Christian socialist minister and author,[1][2] best known for writing the American Pledge of Allegiance.

...

Bellamy "viewed his Pledge as an 'inoculation' that would protect immigrants and native-born but insufficiently patriotic Americans from the 'virus' of radicalism and subversion.""

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francis_Bellamy

So here we have a socialist who created a brainwashing tool for use on vulnerable young children to create life-long loyalty to the state, and self-professed anti-socialist, "small government" types recite his pledge before their meetings.

F-ing idiots.

Palms up for allegiance to the State and palms down for allegiance to the Fuhrer. No thanks, I will think for myself.

My allegiance is to God, myself, and family first, then being a citizen of Idaho second, and an American third.
