Actually, I heard that 20 rounds were fired --- the first three coming from the young man who shot at the off-duty police officer who was following him, who then returned fire.

Shooting appears justified. But considering the Mike Brown shooting if I was black and in St Louis being chased by a white policeman...

I've heard 16 or 20. The twitter universe was using the hash-tag 16shots.

Officer was carrying a Glock 17, either 17 or 18 rounds depending on if capacity +1.

I want to see the type of 'sandwich gun', according to relatives, that the angel was carrying.
Maybe the cop mistook the salami slices or cucumbers flying out of the sandwich as gunfire?

His gun jammed? Darn pistols ! A good reason to select a 357 ....

Likely due to it being uncared for or not so good ammo.

I suppose since the officer was off-duty, there won't be any body cam footage to review...

Are Ferguson officers wearing body cams now? Or will that take months/years/never to get done?

From what I understand this was not a Ferguson police officer.

The dead guy was on house arrest and supposed to have an ankle monitor pending a hearing next month for felony possession of a firearm among other matters. Had he been remotely following the law he would not have even been there in the first place. He was obviously a punk. I'd have the same opinion regardless of the racial heritage or skin color of either the punk or the cop.

If the kid really shot first, which based on his history is probably true, good shoot imo. One less violent would-be felon off the streets. At least one witness claims hearing at least 2 shots fired first, which is consistent with the kid shooting first, then having his gun jam. Not sure why this is even in the news. How can people that weren't even there claim the kid was unarmed and that the cops planted a gun, when the cop WAS there, got shot at, and found a gun on a kid who was OUT ON BAIL for running from cops and another gun charge? This is irrelevant to Michael Brown and it's a disrespect to Brown to say this kid's name in the same breath.

forensics indicated the assailant had gunpower residue on his hand and a previous weapons conviction. His family still insists he didnt do anything wrong and threw a ham sandwich at the LEO. So easy to confuse ham sandwiches and 115gr FMJ 9mms......
