Ebola ... a virus, viruses have been around for a long time...wiping out entire cities in the past.

So what did they do before modern medicine? After all dangerous diseases have not always spread worldwide?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plague_of_Athens has a good rundown of their issue that may have been ebola

Based upon striking descriptive similarities with recent outbreaks in Africa, as well as the fact that the Athenian plague itself apparently came from Africa (as Thucydides recorded), Ebola or a related Viral Hemorrhagic Fever has been considered.[7]

Testing for ebola will not work, as most folks agree just due to the diseases way of working on the body..you can have it and it won't show in your blood.

Like ancient times, the best way of dealing with these things is to isolate the region that has it. Toss those folks of that geographical region "under the bus" basically.

Even ancient folks knew to avoid contaminated areas and not to allow people from those areas to leave the area.

But our politicians don't like that solution...its mean !

Because of the reaction of politicians you are telling folks "hey, attack us with a biological weapon...we don't mind!"

How many halloween ebola costumes will we see this year? and how many won't we see....

I don't know that it is our politicians in general, but it certainly is the current Administration. And they don't like it because of political correctness. If the Ebola epidemic had started in a caucasian European-descended area it would be blockaded and nothing in or out except for WHO approved medical staff.

I'm not overly concerned about ebola, but am paying attention. Even so, I think that we our not having a restriction into this nation from the afflicted area, just in case if nothing else, seems absurd.

say what?

http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/ebola-virus/basics/tests-diagnosis/con-20031241

If doctors suspect you have Ebola or Marburg viruses, they use blood tests to quickly identify the virus, including:
•Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)
•Reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (PCR)

If you have it, it shows up in your blood.
