I wrote this letter to Chuck Allen
"Trooper Chuck Allen, If you are elected Sheriff of Washoe County, would you take down the illegal signage at the front of the Sheriff's Office that prevent citizens from lawfully carrying firearms into the civil areas of the sheriff's office? As a conservative libertarian and 2nd Amendment advocate, I, like many others, take Nevada's firearm law preemption (NRS 244.364) very seriously, and your promise would mean votes in your pocket from me and my many of my friends.
Logic would dictate that if one were to go into a building meaning to do harm, the signs will not stop the bad guy. Only the good guys.
I know you are a busy man with the election coming up, so thank you for your time reading this letter, and I look forward to a reply. "
His Response:
"Once I was assured that employees working in the front office had some
sort of protection from someone firing a weapon inside the building
(bullet proof glass partitions similar to what the NHP building in
Reno has), I would definitely consider removing such signage from the
building.
Thank you for the email and for your service as a reserve deputy, and
maybe we can meet in person sometime to discuss further,
Chuck"
This is good news for Washoe county residents to have a candidate open to the idea of lawful citizens with firearms in the WCSO. Considering his opponent, Undersheriff Kuzanek, was hand picked by by the current Anti-2A Sheriff, I doubt he'd be as receptive. I'll shoot him a letter anyways and let you all know how it turns out.
Happy voting everyone
