To be sure they'd drag you into court and fight you the whole way that's where the perjury comes in.

Of course you could always plead the 5th but that would work in their favor if they convinced a jury or judge the video was shot in WA.

Good point. But I am going on record now and say even if 594 passes, I am still going to let other people shoot my stuff if they let me shoot their stuff.

Youtube video idea

1) A group of gun owners set up a video camera.
2) Said group of gun owners form a circle and pass their [UNLOADED] guns around and around until everyone until everyone has their own original gun.
3) Post the video on Youtube titled as "I-594 Dan Satterburg Gun Transfers".

Dan Satterburg's problem: proving that the video was made after the bill goes into effect.

Actually I was thinking we could do this on the Lawn in front of the Tivoli Fountain at the State Capitol. :)

If there were any recognizable landmarks that wouldn't work. Also, if they questioned you to be sure you'd have to commit perjury.

You can't commit perjury in this state during questioning by the police but, more importantly, you can't even come close if you simply don't answer any questions. Since the rules are that anything you say can and will be used against you the best course is to not say anything. Period.

If you don't want to take my word for it, just watch this and I think you will be convinced:

Part 2, the cop: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08fZQWjDVKE

I know you don't have to talk to police but you will be questioned under oath at some point.

Lammo, in your professional capacity, if I-594 passes, would you pursue charges against someone in violation of the new law?

Yes. Covered.

We saw how well taking the 5th works in 2014 didn't we? Don't get me wrong, I don't think Lois Lerner was a clear case as she did a few things she shouldn't have as well as her being a public servant and owing answers in that regard, however, her situation painted the 5th in a bad light for many potential jurors.

Can always be charged with obstruction or interference though, depending on state law (talking generally)...best not to say anything.

You cannot say "I take the 5th" to every question .. only questions that may incriminate you. Go ahead and say 5th amendment when they ask you your name....

There was a terrible boating accident and they fell overboard. If some zealous diver recovers them who am I to try and reclaim them.

IF.

A) Flood the Attorney General's office with requests for his opinion on every scenario where you think you'd be in violation of the law, CC'ing your legislators. If he won't respond, use your legislators to follow up. Wash-Rinse-Repeat.

Remember that even with NICS, the burden was placed on the dealer to get a background check for arms they sold on their license. You could/can still legally get firearms without going through a dealer. If he responds affirming that it is indeed a violation, make sure your legislators know, your friends on social media know, etc., to start the process to roll back their criminalizing morally positive behaviors, like my storing my adult son's firearms while he is deployed.

If he says it isn't a violation, isn't that a "get out of jail free" card?

-or-

B) Do they make Groundhog day cards? That'd be perfect to gift my son a scoped .22-250 bolt action, etc. with ;-)
