$tarbuck$ Concert for Valor plays CCR's 'Fortunate Son'

Anti-Military Anthem Played at 'Concert for Valor' Unfortunate song.

On a musical level, “Fortunate Song” is not a bad song—that's one hell of a riff. But the “Concert for Valor,” a Veterans Day event sponsored by HBO and Starbucks, in front of the Capitol Building, was not the place for it.

Vets of other wars like that song too.

I dont think that song was anti military so much as it was anti politician and anti draft. Listen to the lyrics. He talks about senators, millionaires, and the ones that "send you down to war." They and their kin were the ones to get free passes on the draft, or were assigned to the European theater where there was nothing going on. I think its a great song for the concert in that so many average citizens were drafted and went to war, fought and came home to a horribly ungrateful public that blamed the soldiers instead of the leaders. THOSE men and women have valor, where the draft dodgers and the "Fortunate Son" types have ZERO.

Oh no, he said a bad word mommy, now I'm going to hell!

Hey don't tell anyone, but I'm sure veterans swear more than that.

Some of the most disgusting vile crap in AmeriKan entertainment "honoring" our veterans.

LOL! The pukes at FAUX NEWS are all bent out of shape over Eminem's "happy MF'n Veterans day". LMAO!

ETA: Fortunate Son is one of the most truthful songs ever written regarding the MIC and Elite in AmeriKa.

    Worth repeating here.

Some folks are born made to wave the flag
Ooh, they're red, white and blue
And when the band plays "Hail to the Chief"
Oh, they point the cannon at you, Lord

It ain't me, it ain't me
    I ain't no Senator's son
It ain't me, it ain't me
I ain't no fortunate one, no

Some folks are born silver spoon in hand
Lord, don't they help themselves, oh
But when the tax men come to the door
Lord, the house look a like a rummage sale, yes

It ain't me, it ain't me
    I ain't no millionaire's son, no, no
It ain't me, it ain't me
I ain't no fortunate one, no

Yeah, some folks inherit star spangled eyes
Ooh, they send you down to war, Lord
And when you ask them, "How much should we give?"
Oh, they only answer, more, more, more, oh

Fortunate Son is very anti-war. But I didn't realize that opposing sending our soldiers to die was the same thing as being anti-soldier. Call me crazy but, ya know, I coulda sworn that was pro-soldier.
