Why schools are GF zones. Police Officers Draw Guns During ‘Active Shooter' DRILL

Students, teachers and parents were taken by surprise after an “active shooter drill” brought the Winter Haven middle school into lockdown as armed police officers burst into classrooms with their weapons drawn.

Students at Jewett Middle Academy said they were terrified when police officers burst in the doors for a planned active shooter drill – but students and teachers are irked they were not told ahead of time.

Seventh-grader Lauren Marionneaux told WTVT-TV that when the officers burst into her class with an AR-15, she was in fear for her life.

Just one armed adult and this headline would have been very different. Who would have been faulted?

What ever happened to the notion that kids could throw books at and dogpile a person who burst into the classroom?

Why did these children not have bullet-resistant nap pads?

I'll settle for an answer to just one of these questions.

    stay safe.

They do know that we can make more kids right? Its easy.

Perhaps they should give teachers the ability to issue infractions to people who enter their classroom against their wishes... maybe a $25 fine.

    Allll fixed.

The parents should arrest each pig involved and flog them for assault with a deadly weapon and making terrorist threats.

I don't "need" to openly carry a handgun or own an "assault weapon" any more than Rosa Parks needed a seat on the bus.

    Actually the full quote is,
"When I first started traveling abroad as President, especially to our annual economic summits, I suggested that the best foreign aid or development program the United States could give the world was a crash study in free enterprise. And this idea was, to say the least, greeted with skepticism. But when America's economic miracle took over and as we created during the past 67 months 17 million new jobs, I noticed that the idea of fostering growth through encouraging the entrepreneur began to take hold -- even to the point where the emphasis on agricultural subsidies, once so sacrosanct in other nations, is giving way at these summits to ideas on how to develop more free enterprise. There seems to be an increasing awareness of something we Americans have known for some time: that the 10 most dangerous words in the English language are, ``Hi, I'm from the Government, and I'm here to help.'' Assaulting a LEO can be met with lethal force. It matters not that the cop unjustly initiates the incident.

Some years ago here in Wisconsin a bill was proposed liberalizing the definition of assault and the legal responses to it, to the extent that a middle-finger salute could be an assault with lethal force a legal response. Thank GOoDness it was defeated, but the political worm has turned.

Were cops, some years ago, in favor of the propo0sed legislation? Are they In favor of such legislation today? I suspect that there may be some cops who would relish such a liberalization of laws, initially intended to protect cops, that resulted in the unacceptable and egregious acts by some cops to inflict, unjustly and free from any negative consequence, physical harm upon citizens in a completely unacceptable and egregious manner. Totally unacceptable.

That would never pass 1st amendment review .... and I would have about 10,000 assault cases pending ... and then 10,000 42 USC 1983 cases pending

No just 1 case since it would have authorized deadly force in response to your finger.
