    Smart gun control - really?

Still trying to figure out how this would help in solving cases.

    What do you think?

The more tech there is, the more that can break/be exploited.

Not a good idea in a defense plan, IMHO.

From your link, "Yardarm Technologies ... provides a way to document abuses of power." That is an interesting premise!

If a public servant has a propensity to abuse a delegated power then that power should be rescinded and abrogated.
I am responsible for my writing, not your understanding of it.

    Fully agree with this.

Just looking at the items the tech business claims will be improved or identified:

    when gun is unholstered
    when gun is fired
    which direction
    exact location

Was any of this information an issue with Michael Brown that might alter the outcome? ...or any other LEO involved in a shooting? I don't see it.

    makes officers safer
    monitored when in danger
    document abuse of power

I'd sure like to hear the story behind these claims.

...and I can see this creeping into every hand gun increasing cost and extending every trial involving handguns.
