Keep an eye out over the holidays for this; Legislator to reintroduce firearms-safety bill in Olympia

HB 1676 pdf of previous attempt. This is the same tack that Senator Murray, now Mayor Murray tried a few years ago.

The problem with America is stupidity.
I'm not saying there should be capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

based on the summary, if this is verbatim in the bill:

"or secured with a lock or device that prevents the firearm from discharging."

Doesn't a safety fit the description?

You have to understand: people making these laws are morons when it comes to guns.

Even the stupid PA13-3 passed in CT of its "assault weapons" ban can be rendered meaningless pretty easily.
