    American Airlines Boots off Grinch

From flight today LGA to DFW.

    http://nypost.com/2014/12/25/plane-p...rry-christmas/

...."Don’t say, ‘Merry Christmas!’ ” the man raged before lecturing the attendants and the pilot about their faux pas.

The crew tried to calm the unidentified man, but he refused to back down and continued hectoring them.

He was escorted off the plane as other fliers burst into cheers and applause."....

I thought the reaction from the rest of the passengers was refreshing. Merry Christmas to all at OCDO.

What do you think his reaction would have been if he'd been greeted with "Happy Festivus"?

To demonstrate anger or rudeness in response to ANYONE expressing a desire for one to have a good day (I don't care the words they use) is certainly bigotry. I'll say Merry Christmas to most anyone and in turn on any day that is special to them I grant them the privilege to also wish me a grand day, be it a Muslim, Jewish, Christian, African, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, or whatever greeting! (For those not included please accept my apologies, your exclusion was not a demonstration of disrespect or an intended slight towards you and yours).

I claim the Right to practice my religion as I see fit, and believe that all others have the same right. Let them worship how, what, or where they may--- or not!

Really, the person is free to state his opinion. The airline employees then wanted to argue with the guy and escalated the situation.

The airline employee should have said "Good point, I'll let the management know." And the guy would have likely been happy or at least satisfied with that response.

    Who is the customer?

If they said "Happy Hannaka (sp?)" I would have complained about that, maybe, if the mood struck me.

I'm sorry but the customer isn't always right. It is this level of PC that is helping to deteriorate our country.

So you know what the employees actually said?

"The customer is always right" has, probably, less than nothing to do with PC.

"And now... for the airing of grievances."

I bet you could get all the way to the destination without any further disruption than to let the guy prattle on about what's wrong in the world....
It takes a village to raise an idiot.

Kwanzaa is cool, I think. I don’t know about “Chris Karenga Claws”, however.

Well, he certainly can’t complain about his ADA rights. Being a rude idiot is not a state-recognized disability, though it’s is a clear sign of a mental impairment. Kinda like being a democrat....

Registering gun owners to prevent crime, is like registering Jews to prevent a HOLOCAUST.

According to the report, the agent replied, “Well, what should I say then?”

Oh, my GAWD, can you imagine anything so horrible and antagonistic? Imagine, wanting the customer's opinion on how to make the customer happy. The very NERVE of it! Shameful.

First amendment, though technically it prohibits the government from interfering, not individuals. The individual part is covered by state laws, IIRC. Though a few federal laws may help, like the Civil Rights act of 1964.

It all depends. What is the customer's problem here? It's a PC issue in this case. Thus giving in to the customer because they have an issue with this comes right back to PC and not wanting to upset people (since upsetting them can lose you money). Yes I know that the point of "the customer is always right" is to try and not lose a customer (and thus money), but given that the whole thing is because he was apparently offended it does come back to a PC thing.
