Trigger locks and cheap lockboxes are a joke - virtually any 6 yo can open one in seconds.

"As part of the study, the Simonetti research team, writing in JAMA Psychiatry, pointed out that suicide is the second leading cause of death for teens and having a firearm in the home is one risk factor for suicide."

But never is the presence of a firearm in the home the single determining factor in whether the individual commits suicide or not. A determined individual, intent to be a victim, will find and use other means: high dives/jumps, electricity, Rx/poisons, vehicle/traffic, hanging, etc.
