Now the French Post Office. Man takes hostages in post office near Paris - official

(Reuters) - An armed man has taken several hostages at a post office northwest of Paris, an official at the city prosecutor's office told Reuters. The man equipped with a military weapon had taken an unconfirmed number of hostages at the post office in the town of Colombes, not far outside the capital, French media reported earlier. "I cannot confirm or deny whether it is linked to terrorism," the official said declining to give further details.

Should arms be allowed on USPS post office property, when will we have to learn?

Police added that they don't know yet if the incident is related to terrorism. This is a hot topic in France after last week's deadly attacks.

UPDATE! From Russia Today RT.com. Never mind!

The gunman was armed with a Kalashnikov rifle, a gun and numerous grenades, French RTL radio reports. From two to five people were taken hostage, say police sources. The incident took place at about 12:00 GMT.

After negotiations with the assailant began, reports emerged that an unknown number of hostages was released and the gunman eventually surrendered to police.

Did any UNarmed cops ride up on bicycles -- and then quickly pedal away -- like they did at the Charlie Hebdo publishing house fiasco?

If so, did they at least hurl harsh words/insults at the terrorists before leaving -- you know, in order to soften them up for the REAL police (hopefully) arriving later? Such as some no-nonsense police imported from Moscow? ;-)

    Exactly!

Those were some pretty impressive harsh words & insults the French Person was hurling.

We just don't see that kind of professional verbal assault nowadays.

    ;-)

P.S. The gunman in the latest incident for sure wasn't a hard-core terrorist (ISIS-style), or else he would have killed ALL the hostages and then himself -- would NEVER have surrendered.
