I spoke to Dan Patrick. He does support Constitutional carry and will allow it for a floor vote. He already changed the rules to allow 19 instead of 21 Senators to bring a bill to the floor. That's huge! There are 31 Senators including him and 20 of them are Republican. This basically gives much more control to the Republicans. The campus carry bill already has 19 sponsors. It will guaranteed come up for a floor vote and that will be a great time to offer Constitutional carry amendment. Like this you will need only 16 votes. The bottom line is: this is the time to politely call all Republican Senators and pin them down on how they stand on Constitutional carry. This is not the time to give up. This is the time to unite and make phone calls. Also, if you live near Austin swing by the capitol building and visit with all the Senators and House members you can find there. I did and I found some staunch supporters of Constitutional carry! A face to face talk for a couple of minutes and a handshake go long way in diplomacy.......

Thanks for the report, and for the work you've put in!

How can any lawmaker support constitutional carry as if it something new? You don't make a law about something that is already delineated in the constitution. If anything, a law should be made to strengthen it. This Constitution, and the laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof...which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound thereby, anything in the Constitution or laws of any State to the contrary notwithstanding. Article 6.

It is already a given. Why treat something as if it is a novel idea? What some are doing, OCing anyway, are making the statement that we don't need the state to give us a permission slip to carry. 2a is the permission slip. Somehow even in my state they need to see that any law limiting carry as in CC is infringement.
