The victim was thrown off balance during the struggle, but managed to draw his concealed handgun and fire one shot as he went down.

The single shot struck the robber in the head, killing him instantly.

Nice shooting there slick.

The robber’s handgun turned out to be a “toy” according to authorities, which we take to mean an airsoft gun.

Good call bud... The article has a funny meme from indiana jones . where the old Knight said "he chose poorly" when choosing the holy grail lol.

Brings new meaning to swift justice! Take what looks like a real gun to a gunfight, expect lead poisoning ...

Sound like the kid won himself a Darwin award. Just glad the innocent didn't die this time, and glad the poor man wasn't arrested or the like, given the traumatic experience he'd just gone through (the article mentioned going to the hospital for chest pains following his self-defense use of his pistol).

Draw and fire headshot on the way down during a fall from being knocked off balance? Seems unlikely.

If you are bad-ass enough to make the headshot, you get to make up the rest of the story. Who can say different?
