From NRA and Marion Hammer:
"Representative Dennis Baxley would like to represent you as your State Senator in Senate District 5. In order to get his name placed on the 2016 ballot he needs to collect about 3,000 petitions from Senate District 5.
Representative Baxley has an A+ rating and has always been endorsed by the NRA-PVF. His A+ rating is a reflection of his exemplary service as a member of the Florida’s House of Representatives in protecting the rights of law-abiding firearm owners and sportsmen and illustrates his unwavering commitment to the Second Amendment. Florida would not have its prestigious Castle Doctrine law without Representative Dennis Baxley.
After you have completely filled out the petition, please print it out and mail it to the address below.
Please forward this email to your family, friends, fellow gun owners and sportsmen live in Senate District 5 and urge them to fill out and mail in the attached petition for Representative Dennis Baxley. District 5 is held by Charlie Dean right now. He is a horrific neocon and hater of open carry. He even voted against the amended SB 234 in 2011 allowing for "brief" exposure. Baxley is pro OC.
“If the natural tendencies of mankind are so bad that it is not safe to permit people to be free, how is it that the tendencies of these organizers are always good? Do not the legislators and their appointed agents also belong to the human race? Or do they believe that they themselves are made of a finer clay than the rest of mankind? ” -Bastiat
I don't "need" to openly carry a handgun or own an "assault weapon" any more than Rosa Parks needed a seat on the bus.
