AKRON, Ohio - Gun-rights activists will walk across the University of Akron campus over the weekend in an effort to inform students and the general public about their right to bear arms.
Activists leading the walk say they will discuss how rights are diminished by laws, like making campuses Criminal Empowerment Zones.
The walk starts Saturday at 1 p.m. at at the corner of Hill and South Forge streets. As of Friday morning, 47 people said they would be attending on Facebook.

State law permits open carry at the campus, University of Akron Police Captain Dale Gooding told newsnet5.com's media partner, the Akron Beacon Journal.
“It’s the law, and we abide by that,” he said.
