This is shameful. Bad boys:

Thieves steal 30 guns from Powhatan firearms dealer
Intruders stole 30 guns early Monday from a federally licensed firearms dealer in Powhatan County and a $6,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects, the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said today.

The break-in occurred about 5 a.m. at American Family Pawn & Guns at 2427 Anderson Highway in Powhatan, according to a news release distributed by the ATF’s Washington Field Office and a Powhatan investigator.

The firearms taken were a variety of handguns and "the vast majority of them are semi-automatic" pistols,Powhatan Sheriff's Detective Jason Tackett said. "They vary in make and model numbers, but it's a pretty extensive list."

Their theft may pose a risk to public safety ...

Gee, you think?

What no background checks? This isn't possible, that is why we have gun control laws to keep guns out of criminals hands.

From being told by folks at the LGS - ATF allows extra bars/grates/etc. to avoid needing to take everything down each night and have to put it back up the next day.

Can you imagine how long it would take Bass Pro or Green Top to put stuff away every night? The overhead would make gun show prices seem like bargains.

stay safe.

You'd think they'd have a nice gun safe? I didn't even know there was a gun dealer thar.

In that case you mustn't have traveled east along RT60 between Flat Rock and RT288, because being unable to see the sign outside their store would entitle a person to a very highly trained labrador.

Years ago MN past a laws saying all handguns had to be put into a safe while closed.

Result was armed robbery right at closing gang bangers entered, shooting every body taking the hand guns.

Tried to find the news story but I am sure it was before it was easy to get on the net.

It was another fell good law with tragic results.

Rapid Fire Updates

Wow! That was fast ...

Two arrested after 30 guns stolen from Powhatan pawn shop
Two men have been arrested in Monday’s break-in at a Powhatan County pawn shop and gun store where thieves stole 30 handguns, a spokesman for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives confirmed Thursday.

The men, identified as Jonathan Xavier Thorne and Jerell Markes Broadie, were arraigned in federal court Thursday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Roderick C. Young in Richmond, said ATF spokesman Thomas A. Faison.

Apparently, Crime Solvers was very helpful ...

Crime Solvers tip was instrumental in arrests of Powhatan gun shop thieves
A Powhatan County Crime Solvers tip received nine hours after authorities announced the theft of 30 handguns from a Powhatan firearms shop was instrumental in identifying and arresting two men who were already in the process of selling the weapons, according to a federal court affidavit.

Check out the evidence:
Investigators also recovered from the car’s trunk price tags for two of the handguns stolen in the burglary — a Sig Sauer Model P250 and a Smith & Wesson Model 22A. Agents also recovered a headlamp from the trunk.

From the hotel room, authorities seized another headlamp, a small amount of green leafy material, a glass smoking pipe, a ball cap and a Trojan condom in a purple wrapper, the complaint says.

The condom matches the description of three purple Trojan condoms that were recovered at the scene of the burglary, the complaint adds.

Gang involvement? Uh oh ...

27 of 30 guns stolen from Powhatan pawn shop yet to be recovered
Nine of 30 handguns stolen from a Powhatan County business last week may have wound up in the hands of a gang.

Questioned during a preliminary hearing this morning, Special Agent Michael Liptak, of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said investigation indicates that nine of the firearms were sold to "a reported gang member" for $4,000.

Liptak did not reveal the name or location of the gang under questioning by Mastandrea-Miller, an assistant U.S. attorney. However, [strike]her[/strike] she said the $4,000 was a higher price than the handguns would have sold for legally.

All told, Liptajk said 27 of the 30 weapons have yet to be recovered.

Many guns traced to NYC

So, remind me again why UBC would help reduce 'gun violence' in New York, as though we are to blame?

Preliminary hearing in federal court for man charged in theft of 30 handguns
Authorities now believe as many as a dozen of the 30 handguns stolen in the burglary of a Powhatan County pawn shop last month were sold to a gang member in New York and others went to the Norfolk area.

Only three have been recovered, Michael Liptak, a special agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives testified Tuesday ...

Proof that most 'illegal' guns are stolen.

Libtard "logic":
1. Evil, gun-industry-funded NRA whips up fear
2. More fear = more demand for guns.
3. More demand = more guns stores and gun shows
4. More gun stores/shows = more potential targets for "people who are less-fortunate" (i.e. criminals)
5. Therefore, everything is the evil NRA's fault because they're so evil.
6. More background checks will solve the problem because...um...well, they just will!
