A story on FoxNews today details two interesting things in one story.

1-An account of an LAC who used his legally carried gun to defend himself against a violent criminal;

2-The urging of Detroit's police chief for LAC's to be legally armed.

Excerpt:

FoxNews said:
Detroit resident Darrell Standberry doesn't navigate streets of the Motor City without his licensed handgun, and it already has saved his life once.

....

In a city plagued by chronic unemployment and crime and guarded by a dwindling police force, residents of Detroit are increasingly taking protection of themselves, their families and property into their own hands. Those who do so responsibly have the blessing and backing of Detroit Police Chief James Craig.

“When you look at the city of Detroit, we’re kind of leading the way in terms of urban areas with law-abiding citizens carrying guns,” Craig said recently.

Obviously, always nits to pick, but in total, a fairly decent article on LACs being armed that discusses decreases in home invasions and women and racial minorities being armed.

Remember Elijah Woody? The dpd railroaded him for lawful oc. He had to fight a felony charge.

His brother Jeronie Stanford was arrested for carrying openly by their owned damn report, and has almost a year later still got a pending felony charge.

The chief is a more or less a ***** for negotiate rights away, and the tip of the spear for an agency that is as corrupt as it is incompetent. This has become very clear in the past couple years, and should always be kept in mind when discussing any aspect of the dpd.

We will be doing a protest march, yet again, very soon if anyone wants to go.

We had a meeting with him, and presented him the evidence of these cases and others, and he essentially refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing.

He is not pro gun, that is conclusive.

I think he's pro gun, but isn't about to let that get in the way of excusing every illegal action his department makes.
