    "Enhancing" the Carry Experience

Are there any rumblings about Wisconsin adding an "enhanced" permit to increase recognition/reciprocity? It would be useful for permit-required OC (e.g. Minnesota) as well as CC.

A lot of reciprocity has more to do with politics than law.

Is there a difference between the two? Other than the live fire requirement, what prevents Wisconsin from being recognized by Minnesota?

The head of DPS saying So.

The head of DPS has the so authority to say what permits MN. recognizes.

The law like in some states could just be we recognize all permits.

Minnesota is kind of being jerky about this, political I suspect. Add some states, remove some states . Total is a net loss in count of people eligible to carry in MN, from what I've seen and read.

With a WI CCL adding MN non-resident doesn't add ANY other states.

The Utah license doesn't add MN.

The Nevada does, but you have to go there to get it.

Best bet as a WI resident seems to be to just bite the bullet, if you travel to MN?

Iowa is similar in that they require a permit to open or conceal, yet they DO accept WI.

I suspect the ability in WI to get a CCL with nothing but a Hunter Safety Course from 1985 when one was 14 is used by some states as an excuse to not accept. Helps as a WI resident, but not so much if you travel out of state. To the extent that one should NEED any kind of a permit to carry a firearm anywhere.......

No thanks. Next step in Wisconsin is to make licenses obsolete.

Only in Wisconsin (plus others like VT, AK....) However you would be SOL (somewhat outta luck) in states that recognize/reciprocate with WI. Now if you are envisioning permitless carry nationwide, I can see your point However by the time that occurs you will probably have forgotten why you wanted to carry in the first place.
