durham pd chief told to retire, resign or get fired

All things considered, Chief of PD is a politically appointed position. Will his handlers also retire? Durham has enjoyed the reputation they have earned we think.

Don't know personally of his OTJ performance, but see this as throwing him under the bus while allowing others to say, "We are addressing the problem."

lopez has had some PR significant issues the most horrific was the young man who shot himself in the head in the backseat of a police car outside the station while handcuffed behind his back.

While have no intent to go CopWatch, it is interesting to see how many times similar has occurred. Seems the explanation of choice is almost always the same.

Google "shot himself in the head in the backseat of a police car outside the station while handcuffed behind his back" (not really so refined a search) - read 'em and weep.
