CBS News: Gun Makers Shares Surge Following Clinton’s [latest] Gun Control Proposals

Clinton pledged to require anyone “attempting to sell a significant number of guns” to be considered a firearms dealer, and therefore need a federal license. She did not say how many gun sales would constitute a “significant” number.

Efforts to require such comprehensive background checks have failed several times in recent years in Congress, where Republican leaders have shown no willingness to even hold votes on efforts to curb access to guns.

Hillary Clinton Pushes Change Allowing Shooting Victims To Sue Gun Makers In Wake Of Oregon Attack
"Clinton also wants to use the UCC attack as an opportunity to change the law so that shooting victims and their families can sue gun makers into oblivion. And even though Duke University researcher Chris Conover has demonstrated that owning a car is “80 percent” more dangerous than owning a gun–as relates to the lives of others–Clinton said nothing about allowing crash victims and their families to sue Ford, Chevrolet, Toyota, or Mercedes.

Clinton asked, “What is wrong with us that we can’t stand up to the NRA and the gun lobby and the gun manufacturers they represent?” She is pledging to fight for these new controls and laws as president."

Following condemnations by Hillary Clinton, everyone in the world is now trying to define exactly what the Alt-Right is. Most of them are getting it wrong.

Not really anything new. This tends to be Hillary's MO. People just want to feel safer and oftentimes that doesn't require a grasp of reality. It's like having gun free zones isn't ever going to prevent a shooting. You'd think people would learn, but they don't want to.

More guns sold=more money for the NRA union to buy politicians with. Fear sells guns (to a certain demographic).

More guns sold = more guns in private hands.

Fear motivates votes on both sides. Notice how often liberals court the minority vote with fears of loss of voting rights or welfare benefits. Or how often liberals trot out fears of evil Republicans taking away their social security payments.

It is the fear of guns and the kind of people that own guns (rednecks, mentally unstable, anti-government-militia types, gang members, poor inner-city blacks/Hispanics, etc) that motivates the desires for liberals/democrats to infringe on the constitutionally enumerated, individual RIGHT to own and carry firearms.

I lived through Bill Clinton's 1994 ban on normal sized magazines and scary looking guns. It wasn't NRA money that cost Democrats control of the House after 40 years. It was a lot of really upset gun owners and even would be owners who didn't like the notion of congress telling them what guns they did or didn't need or could or couldn't buy.

Democrats could completely remove RKBA as an effective wedge issue by simply stopping their attacks on RKBA. If Democrats and other liberals would give 1/2 the credence to the "settled law" of the black letter language of the 2nd amendment, as they do to the un-written "rights" found in the "penumbra" of the 4th and 14th amendments, they'd put the GOP to shame in terms of defending the RKBA. And I wish they would. I really, really wish that support for the RKBA would stop being a partisan issue. How do we persuade the Democrats to do the right thing other than voting against them when they start making noises about attacking RKBA again?

Fear of losing their precious seats with all the perqs that come with those seats is all that keeps far too many Democrats from flat out repealing the 2nd amendment and disarming us entirely.

All experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. Thank heaven we do not permit a few to impose anarchy.

"With Anarchy as an aim and as a means, Communism becomes possible."

"Communism and Anarchy [are], a necessary complement to one another. "
--PETER KROPOTKIN, "Anarchism: its philosophy and ideal." 1898.
