Obama tells GQ Bill Simmons, Guns the variable between US and other countries.

In an interview published Tuesday in GQ magazine, Mr. Obama said easy access to guns is “the only variable” between the U.S. and other developed countries.

“The main thing that I’ve been trying to communicate over the last several of these horrific episodes is that, contrary to popular belief, Americans are not more violent than people in other developed countries,” Mr. Obama said. “But they have more deadly weapons to act out their rage.”

Asked by interviewer Bill Simmons of HBO if gun control will be the “dominant” issue on his agenda next year, Mr. Obama replied, “I hope so.” http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/...ue-final-year/

Despite the rampant access, we're not actually more violent. Gee, it appears as if our President can't put two and two together. At all. Ever.
The First protects the Second, and the Second protects the First. Together, they protect the rest of our Bill of Rights and our United States Constitution, and help We the People protect ourselves in the spirit of our Declaration of Independence.

Putting two and two together means using math. Math does not lie, it is precise and logical. This is not the gun banner's way. They want to confuse, instill fear and doubt. This is why they introduced common core math.

    The only variable?

Cool, that means we can drop all that "history of enslavement" thing and actually deal with current reality? I suspect that isn't what he meant.

Among other variables, the US is far more diverse--racially, ethnically, etc--than some developed nations. We are also rather larger.

In addition to our guns, that pesky Constitution also continues to protect our freedom of press and the speech, we afford the accused and even convicted criminals far more rights than in most other developed nations. We do not allow judges or juries to assume that silence means anything about guilt. We have some semblance of being secure in our persons, papers, and effects left in tact compared to other nations. Simply put, it is harder to catch and convict criminals here than in some nations. And when we do catch them, we kind of have to deal with the fact that they are citizens deserving of full rights, rather than the proverbial red headed step child. I'm guessing the Brits have no problems treating the Irish different than they do actual Englishmen. Not to mention that unlike some other developed nations, we have de facto open borders and birthright citizenship.

And, most importantly, as since9 points out, the US is not actually more violent than many other developed nations. US murderers tend to be more successful, I'd guess. But it isn't like rape, assault, or home invasions are minor crimes to be ignored just because they don't result in a dead body.

All I hear when ever he talks is: "Blah....Blah...Blah..."! He never makes any sense, AND he has the sheeple totally BSed into following him. He's leading them like the "Piped Piper", right into the river, and he is leading their children too.

He is a flim flam man. He ranks right up there with Jimmy Swaggart and Jim Bakker.
