Connecticut to ban gun sales to people on watch lists: Gov. Malloy

Connecticut would become the first U.S. state to ban the sale of guns to people on government watch lists under an executive order that Governor Dannel Malloy, a Democrat, said on Thursday he will sign. The measure, which Malloy said needs federal approval, would require state police to review whether a potential gun buyer was on the federal no-fly list or on a watchlist for people suspected of ties to terrorism.

There goes due process, out the door to join most of the other checks and balances meant to chain down government.

The ban would not have stopped the California attack as the shooters were not on any government terrorism watch list.
You mean like buying a gun ILLEGALLY, or making "modifications" to it that are ALREADY illegal in the area where they are made?

What really ticks me off about that toads move is a fact that the Reuters article points out at the end. This idiotic move would not have stopped that shooting in CA.
Guard with jealous attention the public liberty.
Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel.
Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force.
Whenever you give up that force, you are inevitably ruined.

So if I cannot determine if a person is on the no-fly list then I can sell them a nice AR? No need for any other type of BR chk I guess.

It seems that the good citizens of CT are not interested in individual liberty.
