Here in the DC area there is a radio station with the call sign WTOP. It is all news, traffic, and weather. No music.

They just ran a report on the source of most of the guns used in crimes in Baltimore.

The reporter said that according to government figures, such-and-such quantity of guns were seized in connection with crimes in Baltimore. And, such-and-such quantity of those guns came from other states.

Of course, pro-gunners went through this some years ago, leaving one to wonder why the anti-gunners can't come up with a rational argument and instead have to rehash old, discredited arguments.

At any rate, one has to wonder why a major radio station is giving air-time to a discredited anti-rights argument. And, one has to wonder whether there is coordination about "the message".

If I recall, every time this comes up it turns out that x% of guns that are traceable come from other States, where "x" is relatively large, a majority. Left unsaid, is the bolded part. It generally turns out that most guns used in crime are not traceable. So, of the minority that are traceable--ie that were purchased legally at some point--the majority came from States where guns could be purchased legally. Shocking...especially on the east coast where States are small and major metro areas so often cross multiple States. Also left unsaid is what proportion of the guns from other States were stolen from their rightful owners.

When a car is stolen and used in a bank robbery, DUI, or other crime, nobody seriously suggests the rightful owner of the car should be held to account for the crime committed with the car. This remains true even if the car was stolen while it was left running and unattended (such as being left in a driveway to warm up in the winter). But if someone comes home to find their front door violently kicked in, the house ransacked, and a firearm missing, suddenly the gun grabbers want to hold the victim of these crimes responsible for all future crimes committed with the stolen gun.

With an ounce of honesty, it would be clear that the real problem is criminals. Criminals who steal stuff; criminals who buy and sell stolen goods; criminals who engage in violent crime. But such truth doesn't advance political agendas.
