Did you know, arming yourself is the wrong response to fear?

See this flashy front-page story in the current Chesterfield Observer:

Of Bulls and Bullets - The political economy of rising firearm sales and the ‘Obama gun bubble’
Kate Folmar, a spokeswoman with gun control group Everytown for Gun Safety, says citizens arming themselves is the wrong response to a mass shooting.

The need to arm yourself after a tragedy is a myth perpetuated by the gun lobby, whose interest is only in selling more guns,” states Folmar via email. “To truly keep our families and Americans safe, we need to close the loopholes that make it easy for dangerous people to get guns, and that means doing criminal background checks on all gun sales and closing the terror gap.”

Last week, Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring announced a plan to tighten restrictions on out-of-state concealed handgun permits. Beginning Feb. 1, Virginia will no longer recognize the concealed handgun permits of 25 states, including neighboring North Carolina, Tennessee and Kentucky. What will this mean for Virginia politics?

“It’s going to instigate a real battle in the General Assembly this year, so my sense is that it’s likely to become an important argument in a lot of elections next year,” says political analyst Bob Holsworth. “Republicans see themselves as staunch defenders of the Second Amendment against government intrusion, and Democrats are going to make the argument in favor of restrictions, and each side thinks it’s going to work for them.”

We need to close the 'Terror Gap' -- who knew?

That's funny. Obama, the greatest gun salesman of all time, and the Moms demand action had nothing to do with the increase in sales.

Create a crisis and then provide the solution; rules for radicals.

LOL Kate seems to be one of those fools that thinks CRIMINALS buy guns from licensed dealers and Gun Shows. Hate to burst her cherry, but CRIMINALS avoid Gun Shows and licensed dealers because there are always local, state and federal LEOs watching. I doubt the CRIMINALS that sell stolen guns to other CRIMINALS have licenses or run background checks.

But then, you have never heard me say Liberals were smart.
