The purpose of the blog is to disseminate information about, and to serve as a forum for the discussion of, North Carolina criminal law and procedure and related topics.

Lots of interesting stuff, this one is a little disturbing.
http://nccriminallaw.sog.unc.edu/mu...an-cite-for-misdemeanor-marijuana-possession/

Don't get me wrong I don't condone the use of marijuana but this is a very minor misdemeanor. Used to be that it took a felony to lose your gun rights. What I am concerned about is what minor misdemeanor will they use next to take away our gun rights? They do love to do it in baby steps so no one notices.

as the author indicated in the body and comments section, this new protocol is completely up in the air and he left it that way by saying "each agency needs to make their own decision"

that should be the scary part...as the NC LE agencies implement the protocol...

Agreed,to be honest I really hadn't thought that far into it. And to clarify, I am in no way qualified to interpret laws.
It would be nice if they were written without the gray areas the everyday person can't understand.
