By Bob Balaban (the actor)

I'm biased. I admit it. I'm a nerdy Jewish liberal living in one of the bluest states in America and I can't imagine how anyone could possibly care about being deprived of his or her assault weapon. Or not being allowed to stockpile ammunition. Or not getting overnight delivery for whatever weapon of mass destruction they want whenever they want it.

Your typical anti-gun-regulation guy gets red in the face when he or she hears a pro-gun-regulation guy talking about limiting his or her god-given constitutionally-endorsed right to carry around a nuclear weapon and a couple of stealth bombers in their left back pocket if they feel like it.

Now as your typical ACLU card-carrying liberal, I must confess...

Grapeshot...

No idea what FUQ means but I'll do what I can to comply upon you providing clarification.

If it's a credibility issue... That's why I posted it... I know it seems fake but it's not (see links below).

The original post is a direct copy of an article (in a widely circulated newspaper*) containing the words of a respected TV and film actor** with a long list of credits to his name.

I would consider it highly immoral to falsely attribute these words...

"they're all possum-hunting weirdos from states with less than a million people in them, currently married to their first cousins."

"his or her god-given constitutionally-endorsed right to carry around a nuclear weapon"

I don't know if he was trying to be funny. Perhaps he was.

I read it more as an angry rant, an ultra lefty blowing off steam by writing exactly how he feels deep inside.

Problem is, he (and media types in general) have a huge infrastructure of media (print, fillm, video) production and distribution at their disposal. His words will be taken at face value by millions.

We have to know what frame of mind (and levels of influence) we are up against.

As an aside... If there are subtleties of internet posting rules I'm not aware of, I thank you in advance for the clarification.

Respectfully;

ACE

FUQ example given below.
The 'Fair Use' Rule: When Use of Copyrighted Material is Acceptable - In some situations, you may make limited use of another's copyrighted work without asking permission or infringing on the original copyright.

As to the article...ignore the liberal, he speaks of nothing new and his appeal to civility is nothing but a liberal tactic to have liberty centric folks compromise on their principles. He will vote for Hillary...or any democrat that will advance the liberal agenda because the liberal agenda is paramount, to the exclusion of all other concerns. Liberals will eat their own if a compromiser is discovered amongst their midsts.

Liberals never compromise, being the angry and miserable lot that they are.

OK I see it. Article shortened to avoid copyright issues, and referenced via links.

Thanks to you both.

Not so much as a copyright issue. If you provide a cite (attributed to the lawful owner of the intellectual property) usually at the end of the wall of text you have not violated his copyright.

If it is not a shiny object I lose interest after about 100 words or so...you ya know what I mean. ;)

You may be technically right; however, the Forum Rule still applies here on OCDO:

(11) RESPECT COPYRIGHT HOLDERS: We often share news stories with one another. Please remember that these stories are copyrighted material and only post a fair-use excerpt along with a link where the rest of the story may be read.
