Money Grubbing Lawyers At It Again

Parents are suing Remington, maker of the AR used in the Sandy Hook tragedy. Arguments were today on a motion filed by Remington to dismiss the lawsuit. The lawsuit is trying to do an end run around the 2005 Lawful Commerce in Arms Act by claiming that marketing and selling a "Military style weapon" in the civilian market is a "form of negligent entrustment" that nullifies Remingtons protection under the LCAA.

Provision for free medical attendance and nursing, for clothing, for food, for housing, for the education of children, and a hundred other matters, might with equal propriety be proposed as tending to relieve the employee of mental strain and worry. --- These matters obviously lie outside the orbit of congressional power.
